Yellolwstone I

We took Fall break off and headed up to Yellowstone. WAY FUN! The last time Jaron was there was when he was 10 and I last went with Tara and my fam when I was 15. I only remembered the smell and the buffalo and Jaron only remembered the little 'pot guts' that played under the boardwalks. We stayed just outside the West Entrance in a hotel (King sized bed!!) Javin had a hard time sleeping so we brought him in bed with us and he managed to turn sideways - bed hog. It was really hard to come back to our little bed after being in a king, sad face.

It wasn't too cold, but it was rainy so we layered Javin. He looks so cute in his blue camo hoodie.

All the hot springs and mud pots were extra steamy because it was cooler outside.

Family Photo Op! I carried Javin in the sling that my mom made - Thanks Mom!

Five Weeks Old

Cute little Monkey bum, he actually loves being on his belly

Sad boy

Every once in a while he'll find his fingers and he'll go to town!

This is the CUTEST face ever, just look at that pout!

Jaron put Javin in his vest, funny.

September 16th

My birthday started as any other day, bright and early with a 4:00 am feeding, then a little more conscious at the 8:00 am feeding, but not by much. Surprisingly to my sleepy eyes I found these waiting for me from my handsome hubby.

I told Jaron the only thing I wanted was a diaper bag, I hadn't gotten one before Javin came. I wanted a special one too. We picked an ADORABLE Petunia Pickle Bottom off ebay, I knew it was coming so I was uber excited!

It took all my strength, but I waited for Jaron to get home to open it. I LOVE my bag!

We gave Javin a bath so his pitties wouldn't be stinky for a fancy birthday dinner. We documented his nakedness, big belly.

Jaron took us out to Tucanos in the Gateway Mall. The waiter made me stand up on a chair and shake it while they sang - How embarrassing! (I think I look pretty good for having a baby 15 day earlier.) You can see Mike in the bottom left corner.

My most favorite ladies: Myself (of course), Tara, Teresa, Meghan with little Danielle, and Annie in spirit (she had to work). It was Teresa's birthday on the 1st, so she and I got free dinners (pretty much the ONLY way we could afford to go). The girls got me a gift certificate to Sky Nails to get a Mani/Pedi (LOVE IT!!), the Thibs got me a gift cert to Cold Stone - Ice Cream is ALWAYS an appropriate gift and Tara took us out to pamper ourselves at Breathe Day Spa, it was great! I have such great friends, I love them!

Three Weeks and Two Days Old!

This camera angle makes Javin look like an Ethiopian. He's been gaining his birth weight back, we have an appointment today to see how much he has gained! I hope he'll be back to 7 10, at least.

If you come into my house around noon on any given day, this is what you'd see. Me passes out on the couch with babe in arms. I've got him on a schedule that works well for both of us, its SO nice. He looks like such a little angel.

Tummy time!! YAY...

...that was short lived.

Hospital Round 2

Before the hospital kicked us out we had Javin circumcised, he was such a little trooper! He hardly cried, I was SO surprised! In fact, he cried harder the night before because we couldn't get him to burp. The doctor's trick, a sugar-induced comma. They put a sugar concentrate on a pacifier and he pretty much went to town. If you look really close you can see the 'sugar face' residue leftover from the ordeal, it makes him look like a sugar addict.

They sent us home with a yellow baby, his bilirubin level was at 14. They don't start treatment until the level is 19, so we just had to keep an eye on him and make sure he didn't get worse. Holly, my sister, gave Javin this little outfit to come home in (precious!).

I love this picture of 'tummy time'. Isn't he the cutest!? Even though he is a little pumpkin-like in color, I love his little bum in the air.

Ok, you can really see the color difference in this picture, other than the fact that I'm butt white, he is pretty fake-baked. We took him back to the hospital to get his blood tested, his bilirubin count had increased to 23 in 5 days. However, they had already discharged us so they had to send us the Primary Children's to be admitted. The hilarious part, we figured we were just getting a test done and we'd be right back - we didn't bring ANYTHING, no diapers, no wipes, no extra outfit, nothing. We are terrible parents.

We had to go through the ER before we could get to a room. By the way, thanks Scottie for helping Jaron give Javin a blessing - it helped me keep a more positive attitude. Having said that, we were in the ER for 4 hours and in that time 7 different people came into the room and asked Jaron and I the same exact set of questions and examined Javin in the same way. For the first five people I was good, I answered the questions and smiled and was nice. Then, they came and drew more blood from my dehydrated baby's heel (after they had drawn the maximum amount for testing purposes), he screamed and screamed and I cried and cried. Not even the sugar pacifier worked. After that I was done, person #6 and #7 told me that they were probably going to have to do a blood transfusion because Javin's levels were so high - even though the previous 5 'doctors' said a few hours under the lights and he'd be fine. I freaked out on '# 7', told her that we weren't going to do the transfusion and gave her all manner of sassiness. We were given a room after that and Javin just chilled under his lights for that night and some of the next day. I loved the glasses and his 'chillin' pose.

He didn't like it when we took him out from under the lights and woke him up to eat, he gave us attitude each time.
They let us go home at 11 pm the next night and the Jaundice hasn't reared its ugly head since. YAY!

Javin Edward Robbins

Thank Heavens for the wonderful gift of epidurals!! It was so much more tolerable once I had some drugs, I could do it again. I was nicer too :)

Little Javin, born 2:50 am on September 1, 2009. 7 lbs 10 oz, 20 inches long. He's a healthy, happy little boy.

Daddy was so proud, I push for a solid 30 minutes. It was a very late night and early morning, we were both really tired, but Jaron just couldn't put him down.

We have come to the conclusion that he has my nose and eyebrows, but Jaron's hairline, chin and lips. We looked at some pictures of Jaron as a baby and they are almost identical, my handsome boys. I'm such a happy mama!

Thanks to everyone who came to visit or send their love electronically - we love you all too! Javin with the Mangums, probably the nicest people in the world.

Temple Maternity

On Friday Jaron and I were invited to the wedding of his best friend Curtis Beyer to Ashley Latimer. It was a gorgeous, cool day so Jaron decided to take his own maternity pictures of me with our 'new to us' camera. We got to Temple Square a bit early (like a hour) so we had plenty of time. I felt like such a tard posing for my hubby while TONS of people walked around us, it was fun though. Jaron doesn't give great direction so the majority of the pictures are the same, plus its really hard to be 36 weeks pregnant and comfortable in more than one pose.
