Hawaii Part II

OH MOLLIE!! I've had these pictures saved as a draft for three weeks! Its just finals week, what can I say?

Travis and Teresa Swift, Me and Jaron at the USS Arizona Memorial, it was a little windy. Before you even get on the shuttle boats you have to watch a 20 minute video about the Pearl Harbor attach. It was surprisingly good and unbiased. The only part that I didn't appreciate was the fact that the mandatory bag check was down the street in the opposite direction.

Outside the memorial.

Travis, Teresa (who is SO stinkin' photogenic), myself and Jaron at the revolving roof top restaurant, Top of Waikiki. It moved just slow enough to not make Teresa turn green, she gets killer motion sick. If you look out the windows you can see the ocean at sunset, and yes, it was expensive. And yes, somehow Jaron is still smiling.

WHO KNEW?!? Jaron nor myself had any clue how pineapples grew. No clue!

Outside the Dole Pineapple plantation, the boys weren't too happy about stopping - they just wanted to get to the beach. I didn't get a chance to try it, but I heard the pineapple ice cream is to die for.

Hawaii Part I

HAWAII!
For those of you who may not know, we took a little vacation. We decided to have one last fling before we had to take on 'REAL' responsibility. We were planning on going to Spain, but Jaron wanted at least 2 weeks to see everything. And since we are both currently in school and both working there wouldn't be a full 2 week break before the baby arrived. In chilling with some friends we heard that Travis and Teresa Swift were going to Hawaii for Spring break, so we crashed their vacation.

First stop, Waikiki Beach! Travis and Jaron (in his shorty shorts).

Teresa and I in the water, we only got in up to mid-calf. The water was cooler than we wanted, but we look way hot in our cute bikinis! Just as we were getting in the water, when it was still uncomfortably cold, a little boy came racing by us into the deeper water with his boogie board. He flicked water all over us, but the funny part was that Teresa thought it was Travis being a brat, she caught herself right before reeming him out the little turd.

Jaron and I by a cute little waterfall, look how cute we are (even as prego as I am).

Jaron posing by the Waikiki Aquarium, it was only a few blocks from our hotel. It was really cool because they had these hand-held speakers that guided you through the whole aquarium. I'm glad that we went there before snorkling, we got to see all the fish behind the glass first. We also got to see a sea cucumber poop.

There were two cute little sea lions at the aquarium. I tried to get a picture of them together, but the little sign said they are mostly unsocial. Maybe its just me, but I always thought that sea lions were cute and cuddly--who knew. He wouldn't even pose for a picture. Its a good profile picture though, you can even see his whiskers.

New Hair

This is the first picture of my new hair. Friends, Meghan with Danielle on my left and Teresa on my right. Its not a great picture of my hair, but my friends look great!!
I knew I wanted to go SHORT, but I was scared of layers. The girl in my ward who was doing the cutting could see my apprehension so she said, "We can always cut more off later, live with the shoulder length for a little - its easy to cut later then glue back on."

I looked a little too school girlie so two days later Alex (the girl in my ward) cut about 6 more inches. I LOVE MY NEW HAIR, its SO easy!!

Christmas 2008

Christmas morning was great!! We woke up and picked through our newly made stockings and then we made our way to the tree. Jaron got some new snowboarding mittens, a cute little egg sized frying pan and spatula, Call of Duty 4 for his Xbox (below are before and after pictures of that) and two books by his current favorite author, Dinesh D'Souza.

In my family the 5 kids 'pick names' for Christmas, but we don't really because somehow every year I get my brother, Brigham, and he gets me. CRAZY! I really don't mind it though, I love my bro. This year he send us some of the best hot chocolate EVER, Stephen's. THANKS BRIG!!

Even though my sister, Jenni (Nini), didn't 'have me' for Christmas she still got us something. Sweet, huh!? She got us an authentic Spanish Churrera (a little thing that makes churros) and a chocolate bar to make Champorada (Mexican hot chocolate). Nini was in Bolivia for Christmas, but called in the morning to wish a Merry Christmas. Below is the Churrera and me on the phone with her. Thanks Nini!

Along with all these wonderful gifts I also got a WAY cool, new and improved backpack. I love it, but its white -- I'll get it so dirty, Chacos (outdoorsie sandals that last a lifetime), way cute scrapbooking stuff from Jaron's sister, Kristin & hubby, Brandon (somehow they always give the best gifts, Jaron and I can't figure out how they do it). We also got some gift cards from fam, Target is always good, thanks "dad-in-law" and The Pie is the best, how did you know BA?!
I love Christmas so much, but my family is so fantastic with their gifts that it makes me feel like such a flakey piece of dog poop. Thanks to all of you that love us, we love you too!

Pre-Christmas!

OK! So, I know I haven't done a thing in about a month, sorry to all my faithful followers. You should be on overload after these next two blogs.

The after Thanksgiving Day sale (Black Friday) usually renders good deals, but in our case there was one GREAT DEAL! Sears was blowing out these Panasonic 42" Plasma TV for cheap, so we snagged one. We got in home before Christmas, but that was our Christmas. We got each other little stuff, but a TV that's inexpensive really isn't cheap.

Here are Jaron and I loving the box that contains the most expensive thing we own, except our cars, but not by much.

Before Christmas I took it upon myself to make us some stockings. We each picked out our favorite fabric and I went crazy from there. It progressed into a big project including: fleece, fringe and a lot of patience. Jaron's is on the left (Army camo with green fleece inside and black fringe that Jaron wasn't too happy about) and mine on the right (brown with blue pokadots, blue fleece interior and blue accent fringe). I had lots of fun making them and experimenting since I didn't have a pattern.

Christmas morning!! Us in our pjs and our cute little space-saving tree (we got it from Jaron's sister, Kristin two years ago). As you might notice our new TV is in the background with a big bow. We've already watched a ton of TV in one month, including a cute old Christmas claymation called Rudolph that my sister, Beth Anne, got for me for my birthday. Thanks BA!
